In the area of the highest peak in the world - Mount Everest, at an altitude of about 4 thousand meters above sea level, the remains of two prehistoric deep-sea predators, called the “Himalayasaurus”, were found, writes “Izvestia” with reference to information from the “Xinhua” agency.

Judging by the remains, the predators were about 10 meters long, had an elongated mouth and sharp teeth. They fed mainly on fish and invertebrates.

About 215-212 million years ago, as a result of movements of tectonic plates, the remains of the Himalayasaurs were raised from the ocean floor and became part of the Himalayan Mountain system.

The remains of ancient predators were found on the territory of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
