Two-time world champion Reza Yazdani leads the Turkmenistan freestyle wrestling team

Iranian Reza Yazdani has been appointed head coach of the Turkmenistan freestyle wrestling team, reports Orient with reference to the leadership of the Turkmenistan Wrestling Federation.

The new coach has already been introduced to the national team. Yazdani will be assisted by coaches Asghar Bazari and Mansour Ispailpour.

Yazdani and his assistants will take part in the preparation of Turkmen wrestlers for the upcoming international tournaments, including the 2023 Asian Summer Games in Hangzhou, as well as the qualification stages for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Reza Yazdani was born in 1984 in the city of Juybar in the province of Mazandaran (Iran). In the past, an Iranian freestyle wrestler, two-time world champion (2011 and 2013), three-time champion of the Asian Games (2006, 2010, 2014) and Asia (2010, 2016, 2019). He started his career in the category up to 84 kg, but then moved to heavier weight categories (96 kg). Participated in the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games.
