The 2023 Asian and Oceania SAMBO Championships will be held in Kazakhstan from June 7 to 11, the official FIAS website reports.
Medals will be raffled off in sports sambo among youths, juniors, adults and masters, as well as in combat sambo among men.
Also, for the first time, the Asian and Oceania Sambo Championship among the blind and visually impaired will be held, one of the categories of which will be held in an open format.
The tournament will be a qualifying round for the 2023 World Martial Arts Games.
The venue for the competition will be the Beeline Arena in Astana.
In 2022, the Asian Sambo Championship was held in Jounieh (Lebanon). At this tournament, the team of Turkmenistan won 22 medals - 3 gold, 5 silver, 14 bronze (5 medals on the first day, 5 on the second and 12 on the last competitive day).
