The city's open tennis championship among children under 12 has ended in Ashgabat, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.

The tournament was held in the Tennis Complex of the Olympic Village. The competition was organized by the Tennis Federation, together with the Main Department of Sports and Youth Policy of Ashgabat.

More than 90 athletes from different parts of Turkmenistan took part in the championship, of which about 70 athletes represented Ashgabat.

According to the results of the competition, the first place in singles and doubles among boys and girls under 12 years old was taken by the athlete of the tennis club "Ashgabat" Sulgun Ishankuliyeva. In doubles, she achieved this success together with a student of the TRSOSH them. A. S. Pushkin Anna Ponyatova.

In boys' singles, the strongest was a student of sports school No. 10 of the Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the city of Ashgabat Suleiman Khudaiberdiev. And the students of sports school No. 9 of the city of Turkmenabat Ali Geldiev and sports school No. 11 of the Main Department of Physical Education and Sports of the city of Ashgabat Begenchgeldy Hummetov became winners in doubles.

Young tennis players were awarded medals and diplomas, as well as memorable gifts from the organizers of the tournament.

The tournament was held on the eve of the Central Asian team championship among children under 12 years old, which will be held in Ashgabat on June 5-9, 2023.
