On the eve of the Victory Day, honoring of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 was held at the “Mekan” Palace in Ashgabat.
The honoring ceremony was organized by the Hyakimlik of Ashgabat, the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan and public organizations of the country.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed on Wednesday, war veterans and widows of soldiers who died in the war living in Ashgabat were awarded cash prizes in the amount of 200 manats and valuable gifts on behalf of the head of state.
Many kind words were said to the veterans. The speakers thanked them for the feat, heroic work in the rear and selfless work carried out today to educate the younger generation. Variety artists performed their favorite songs for the veterans.
Similar ceremonies honoring war veterans and widows of soldiers who fell on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War will be held these days in all regions of Turkmenistan.
