Large cash prizes were raffled off at the festive horse races in Turkmenistan

Large cash prizes were raffled today at the festive races in Turkmenistan, which took place with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the International Ahal-Teke Equestrian Complex. They were held within the framework of the National holiday of the Turkmen horse, celebrated annually in last April, the information program Watan of the Turkmen television reported.


The main prize of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov - "Akhan" - was played in the final, seventh race, in which the participants competed on horseback on graceful handsome Ahal-Teke horses at a distance of 1600 meters. In a spectacular and exciting fight, master jockey Begenchmyrat Agamyradov finished first on the horse Novruz of the Ahal-Teke equestrian complex of the President of Turkmenistan. A cash prize in the amount of 100 000 manats, a Tolkun TV and a challenge Cup of the head of state were presented to the winner by the chairwoman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova.


In the remaining six races, prizes of 70 000 manats each, established by various sectors of the national economic complex, were raffled off.


Today, the winners and prize-winners of the show jumping and equestrian marathon competitions held this week were also announced. The first place in show jumping was taken by a student of the Turkmen Agricultural University Serdar Garajaev on an Ahal-Teke horse named Toychy. And in the marathon at a 60-kilometer distance, the best result - 2 hours 36 minutes and 21 seconds - was shown by Toylymyrat Babayev on the horse Gayduv of the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex of the President of Turkmenistan.


Receiving well-deserved awards and expressing sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the concern for the development of national horse breeding and equestrian sports, the jockeys assured that they would make every effort to preserve the famous horse breeding traditions and further popularize the Ahal-Teke breed.


As part of the celebrations at the open area of the International Ahal-Teke Equestrian Complex, the works of sculptors, carpet craftsmen, artists and other creative people who won the competition held in honor of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse were presented.
