Today, a two-day training course for journalists on the use of platforms for creating digital content when covering issues of public interest ended at the “Yyldyz” hotel in the capital.

The program of the second day was devoted to discussing such issues as the design and adaptation of public interest journalism for social networks and communicators; examples and features of video and audio formats in online journalism; audience engagement technologies and much more.

The participants of the training got acquainted with podcasting and the growing role of audio in an overly visualized media space. The process of creating and distributing sound or video files - podcasts - in the modern world transfers communication with the audience from public spaces to personal gadgets of a person, giving it a more personalized character, achieved primarily through the effect of presence. The benefits of such tools as podcasts were revealed to the participants by international experts.

Further practical work was carried out in groups. The journalists were tasked with optimally formatting, writing and structuring public interest journalism for digital platforms.

The training also included a review of local online resources.

The participant of the training, an employee of “Turkmenportal” Resul Dovletmuradov notes:

“Participation in the training provided an opportunity to get acquainted with the new standards of digital publications, to discover new tools that help facilitate the work of journalists in creating effective content”.

Let us remind that the training was organized by the OSCE Center in Ashgabat. Earlier, we reported that a two-day training for journalists was being held in Ashgabat.
