Actors of the Ashgabat theater “ArtIst” participate in the XXV International Festival of Russian Theaters “Meetings in Russia” in St. Petersburg.
Festival dedicated to the 200th anniversary of A.N. Ostrovsky, started on the 7th and will last until April 16.
Ashgabat residents brought to the festival their performance based on the play by Alexander Ostrovsky “Profitable Place” staged by the young director Mekan Jumabayev.
Today, the performance will be shown on the stage of the theater “Baltic House”, reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”
This year, leading groups from 10 countries - Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Abkhazia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus and Russia - met at the Baltic House Theater-Festival.
Within the framework of the festival, the IV International Conference “Russian Theater Abroad as an Institute of Russian Culture” was held, as well as discussions of performances, master classes, and creative meetings.
The festival is a professional discussion platform for discussing topical issues in the development of Russian-language theatrical art.
