Now about a thousand ostriches live on a farm located in the south of the country. Although quite recently, last year, the first hundred African birds were brought from Türkiye.
“The heat is not a problem for these birds, so they quickly adapted to the climate of Turkmenistan. About a thousand ostriches live on the farm. For them, on the territory of 5 thousand hectares, all conditions have been created for breeding chicks. Every day, laying hens bring up to 85 eggs, which are placed in an incubator. Kilogram ostriches are born, on average, after 40 days. Now four hundred chickens are growing up on the farm”, - the report says.
