The men's 3×3 basketball team of Turkmenistan failed to reach the final stage of the 2023 Asian Cup, which takes place in Singapore.

Turkmen basketball players in the qualifying group "B" lost today to the New Zealand team - 10:21. Earlier, the national team of Turkmenistan beat the team of the Kingdom of Tonga (19:15) and lost to the Koreans (8:15).

The national team of Turkmenistan took the third place in the group (37 points), only the New Zealand team advanced to the final stage from the first place (62 points). In second place is the Republic of Korea (50 points), in last place is Tonga (41).

Evgeny Nazipov, Merdan Hojamedov, Annakuli Hojakuliyev and Shalar Hydyrov played in the national team of Turkmenistan at the World Cup. The head coach of the Turkmenistan men's 3x3 basketball team is Toyly Bairyev.

A variant of 3x3 basketball, also known as streetball, was included in the program of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Each team has four players, but only three can be on the court. The game goes on for 10 minutes of pure time or up to 21 points, for an accurate long-range shot the team receives two points, for the remaining hits in the basket - one point each.
