Roaming between Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, members of the Eurasian Economic Union, may soon be canceled, reported “Vedomosti”.
The Eurasian Economic Commission sent inquiries to Russia about the income of mobile operators, the number of subscribers, the volume and cost of mobile services provided to citizens of the EAEU countries from January 2020 to December 2022, and also attached a “roadmap” of plans for the gradual abolition of roaming among the EAEU countries.
The Commission also instructs mobile operators to carry out work to curb cases of fraud and develop rules for the use of fair tariffs for communication services by 2024. By 2025, cellular operators of the EAEU countries will have to introduce new tariffs for communication services within the Eurasian Economic Union.
