The movement of trucks through the international automobile checkpoint "Bajgiran" on the border of Iran with Turkmenistan, which was temporarily suspended three years ago, has been resumed, IRNA reports, citing Mohammad Beheshti, head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry's office in Khorasan Razavi province.

As Mohammad Beheshti said, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan announced the permission to enter the country for 10 trucks from the Bajgiran border checkpoint in order to intensify trade relations between the two countries.

According to Beheshti, the weight of the trucks should not exceed 20 tons, and their movement should end in Ashgabat.

Checkpoint Gaudan (Turkmenitan) - Bajgiran (Iran) is located 35 kilometers south of Ashgabat.

Truck traffic has been suspended for three years due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. After the resumption of traffic at the Bajgiran checkpoint, all checkpoints between Iran and Turkmenistan became active and available for the transportation of goods and passengers by road, rail and sea.
