Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has apologized for misleading Parliament about parties on Downing Street in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, MIR 24 reports.

“I apologize for inadvertently misleading the House of Commons. However, to say that I did it recklessly or on purpose is completely wrong, as my evidence shows,” said former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Johnson testified before the Parliamentary Privileges Committee. Before the start, the former head of government, in violation of the regulations, even swore on the Bible. If it is established that the deception of Parliament was intentional, then Johnson could be deprived of his parliamentary mandate.

The scandal erupted around parties at the government residence on Downing Street during the nationwide coronavirus lockdown and when the kingdom was declared national mourning on the eve of the funeral of Prince Philip.
