Information technologies are being actively introduced in the field of international road transport in Turkmenistan. In this, the country cooperates with the International Road Transport Union (IRU). The IRU is supported in this regard by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
This is reported by Trend with reference to the words of the Director of the Department of International Road Transport (TIR) and IRU Transit Systems Tatiana Rey-Belle.
“Turkmenistan and IRU last year implemented several projects to increase the country's transit and transport potential, as well as to optimize cross-border procedures in order to improve Turkmenistan's connection with neighboring countries”, - Tatyana Rei-Belle said.
GIZ will continue to support the digitization of customs procedures in Turkmenistan, which will further facilitate trade, the IRU representative noted.
The German development agency GIZ provides services in the field of international cooperation and education.
