From 25 to 30 April, the World Choral Music Symposium will be held in Istanbul. The world's leading choirs and music experts will perform in the historic buildings of the Beyoglu district, as well as the Atatürk Cultural Center. This was reported by the press service of the Turkish Embassy in Ashgabat.

The World Choral Music Symposium in Istanbul will be the first global choir convention since the pandemic. Its theme - "Changing Horizons" - is a tribute to the tradition of collective singing, a reference to the wide geography of the event and the coverage of the maximum number of forms of choral music.

More than 50 speakers, over a thousand artists and two thousand participants from 28 countries will gather at the iconic Beyoglu venues in Istanbul. The event will focus on contemporary choral music and how collective singing will evolve in the near and distant future.

“The program of the Symposium presents a wide variety of styles and traditions of choral music. A series of concerts, exhibitions, seminars and other events with the participation of artists from Turkey and other countries will highlight the unifying role of music, which spans different cultures and brings civilizations together,” the message says.

More than 30 Turkish choirs and 11 specially invited foreign groups will be represented at the Symposium. More than 40 nightly concerts are planned in Beyoğlu's iconic historic buildings, such as the Galata Mevlevi cloister, the Church of St. Anthony of Padua and the center of Grand Pera.

More information about the program of the event can be found on the website wscmistanbul2023.com.
