On Saturday, the Embassy of Turkmenistan to the United States organized a literary evening at the “Shoreline Community” college in Seattle, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and classical poet of the East Magtymguly Fragi.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the event was attended by students and teachers of the “Shoreline Community” and “Cascadia” colleges in the state of Washington, as well as representatives of the Turkmen diaspora living in the United States.
The program of the literary evening included Magtymguly’s poems, as well as presentations about the life and work of the poet in Turkmen and English. Turkmen students took an active part in the event.
The evening continued with a discussion of the importance of Magtymguly's works in the upbringing of the younger generation, the source notes.
