The UN Office in Turkmenistan held a dialogue of women from various spheres of life, timed to coincide with the upcoming International Women's Day.
The dialogue was attended by diplomats, business women, IT specialists, journalists, students, volunteers. Representatives of the beautiful half of humanity shared their stories and achievements, Orient reports.
“International Women's Day is another occasion to celebrate progress on gender equality and women's empowerment. The UN celebrated its first International Women's Day in 1975,” said Dmitry Shlapachenko, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, emphasizing that the involvement of women and girls in society stimulates economic growth.
A fair was also organized as part of the event, where visitors could buy gifts for their relatives and friends.
