3rd year students of the International University for the Humanities and Development Nazli Yagshimyradova and Aybolek Muhammedova completed a three-week work experience at the editorial office of the Turkmenportal information publication.

During the internship, the future journalists gained skills in working in the media, got acquainted with the news and media content production departments, and also completely immersed themselves in the practical side of creating materials.

The interns tried themselves in the role of real correspondents, announcers, and editors. All these invaluable skills will come in handy before they start working in the media.

The young journalists attended many events, including a concert organized by the US Embassy cultural program “American Music Abroad”. This concert was attended by the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan conducted by Rasul Klychev, American performers Kate Bass and Aaron Young, Turkmen vocalists Dovran Shammiyev and Dunyagozel Begaliyeva, the State Choir of Turkmenistan.

At this event, IUHD students acted as correspondents, interviewing famous American artists, and later, translating these conversations, turned into strict editors.

Another such event is the Days of Iranian Culture in Turkmenistan, during which the interns worked out the skills of interviewing foreign guests, and also took part in the process of creating a video report from the specialized economic exhibition of Iran in Ashgabat.

As part of the Turkmenportal film crew, the students attended a charity event organized by the Visa Application Center of the Turkish Embassy in Ashgabat, where humanitarian aid was collected for victims of the devastating earthquake in the country.

The future journalists completed their practice at the exhibition dedicated to the Day of the Diplomatic Worker at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
