Young athletes from Turkmenistan are finishing preparations for the second Winter International Sports Games “Children of Asia”, which will be held in Kuzbass from February 23 to March 5, 2023, reports “MIR 24”.
The Games will be attended by young athletes from Asia, Russia and Belarus. The Turkmen team has special hopes for representatives of ice sports.
“Five ice arenas have been built in the country, the largest of which can accommodate 10 thousand spectators. Short track, along with hockey and figure skating, is in the top 3 most popular winter sports in Turkmenistan. In this discipline, local talents are especially good, and one of the latest achievements of the Turkmen National Skating School was the recognition of Turkmenistan by the International Skating Union”, reports sports observer Dmitry Kalugin.
Let us note that the first day of the official competitions within the framework of the “Children of Asia” will be February 24. On this day, the group stage of the hockey tournament will begin at the “Kuznetsky Led” arena in Novokuznetsk. The final starts, in cross-country skiing, are scheduled for March 4th.
The winners and prize-winners of the “Children of Asia”, according to the organizers, will be awarded 227 sets of awards.
