Since the beginning of 2023, the Rosselkhoznadzor has carried out quarantine phytosanitary control of 5 thousand tons of fresh tomatoes that arrived in the Moscow region from Turkmenistan.

At present time, Turkmenistan is a key supplier of tomatoes to Russia, and every year Turkmen enterprises increase exports in this direction.

As reports the official website of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation, since the beginning of this year, the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the city of Moscow, the Moscow and Tula regions has already inspected more than 270 vehicles and carried out quarantine phytosanitary control of about 5 thousand tons of fresh tomatoes that arrived on the territory of the Moscow region from Turkmenistan.

Specialists of the All-Russian Center for Plant Quarantine (FGBU “VNIIKR”) conducted laboratory studies that confirmed the compliance of these products with quarantine phytosanitary requirements. All imported batches are subject to control and comply with the quarantine and phytosanitary requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union.

After successfully passing the quarantine phytosanitary control procedure, the tomatoes were released for free sale.

Turkmen entrepreneurs grow various productive varieties of tomatoes, including cherry tomatoes, rugantino, and fulton. Innovative plant care techniques help grow tomatoes all year round.
