Uzbekistan resumed gas supplies from Turkmenistan during the winter period in order to meet domestic demand. This was reported by “RIA Novosti” with reference to “Uztransgaz” JSC.
According to a representative of “Uztransgaz”, up to 12,6 million cubic meters of gas per day is pumped from the Turkmen side.
Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan imports about 1,5 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Turkmenistan in winter to meet domestic demand.
The authorities of Uzbekistan earlier decided to intensify the import of gas, electricity, coal and fuel oil due to a shortage of energy resources against the backdrop of cold weather in the country.
