The CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his recognition as the National Leader of the Turkmen people and appointment as the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
“Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on your recognition as the National Leader of the Turkmen people and appointment as Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan. Your fruitful activity, the purpose of which is to build a strong and prosperous Turkmenistan, deserves the deepest respect”, - says the letter of the CIS Secretary General, published on the website of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Lebedev also noted that the work of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the head of the Halk Maslahaty will help strengthen the position of Turkmenistan in the region and the world.
He also expressed hope for continued constructive cooperation with Turkmenistan within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Earlier, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree, according to which Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was elected Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, and was also declared the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
