A number of specific issues of practical cooperation in the energy sector were discussed today during the telephone talk between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
The Kremlin's press service also notes that the heads of states highly appreciated the achieved level of the Turkmen-Russian strategic partnership.
As it became known to Turkmenportal, during the telephone conversation, the interlocutors paid special attention to the visit of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin to Turkmenistan scheduled for January 19-20 this year. During this visit, high-level negotiations, signing of a number of documents, holding a major business forum and numerous bilateral meetings are planned. It is noteworthy that the Russian delegation, along with Government representatives, will include the heads of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation with whom Turkmenistan has developed fruitful trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.
Let’s remind that in June 2022, Vladimir Putin and Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Declaration on deepening strategic partnership between the two countries. According to the document, the parties intend to deepen cooperation in the energy sector, including in the development of oil and gas fields. They are also working on the formation of a joint transport commission in order to increase bilateral and transit traffic, and develop logistics.
