Imangali Tasmagambetov has been appointed for the position of the new Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (SCTO), the “MIR 24” portal reports.

The new Secretary General of the CSTO, who replaced Stanislav Zas on this position, will head the organization until the end of 2025. Over the years, he held the position of akims of Astana and Amlmaty cities, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Russia, also headed the administration of the President. In 90s worked as the Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, in the early 2000s he headed the Government of Kazakhstan for two years.
