In Ashgabat was held 12th annual meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Central Asian states

Today, twelfth annual Meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Central Asian states was held in Ashgabat. The meeting was organized by the UN Regional Center for preventive diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), which celebrates its 15th anniversary of establishing.

The forum was attended by Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Central Asia, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Natalia German, Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan Marcus Potzel.

Such issues as strengthening of regional cooperation and extension of interaction between Central Asian states and UNRCCA were discussed with the aim of preventing and countering stability threats as well as sustainable development in the region.

Special attention was paid to the intensification of partnership with the participation of UNRCCA for Central Asia and UN Mission on assistance to Afghanistan (UNAMA) which is able to extend cooperation and confidence significantly in the region with the active participation of Afghanistan.

The Turkmen side voiced its support for the promotion of such dialogue platforms initiated by the RCPDC as the Academy of Preventive Diplomacy for Youth and the Women's Dialogue of Central Asian Countries.

As noted, Turkmenistan is taking comprehensive measures aimed at ensuring sustainable economic growth of the state, the development of industrial, investment, transport and communication, social spheres, rational use of natural resources, strengthening of foreign economic relations.
