Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the participants of the Festival of friendship of the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples

On the occasion of the opening of the Festival of friendship of the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples in Dashoguz, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev forwarded congratulations to the participants of the festival.

Expressing deep gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as to all the organizers of the friendship festival for holding it at a high level, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the historical and cultural ties of the Uzbek and Turkmen peoples serve as a solid foundation of centuries-old ties of friendship and brotherhood.

“This important forum, aimed at further strengthening truly kinship and good neighborly relations, once more vividly demonstrates the organicity and commonality of the noble goals and aspirations of our peoples”, the head of Uzbekistan stressed.

The message noted that the historic visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Tashkent in July this year gave a new impetus and dynamics to the further deepening of the strategic partnership between the two states.

Recently, the Union of Writers and the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan published a 100-volume collection of works “Pearls of Turkic Literature”. 10 volumes of the collection are devoted to selected works of classics and contemporaries of Turkmen literature, such as Azadi, Andalib, Mahtumkuli, Mollanepes, Berdy Kerbabayev, Hydyr Deryaev, Atajan Tagan.

In 2018, one of the central streets of Tashkent was named after the great son of the Turkmen people, poet and thinker Mahtumkuli, a picturesque alley was created, where a bas-relief in honor of the poet was installed. The ancient memorial complex “Ulli Hovly” has been restored and put into operation in the town of “Turkmenler” of Urgench district of Horezm region. It was noted that special attention is also paid to representatives of the Uzbek diaspora living in Turkmenistan.

“I am convinced that we will and further with mutual efforts conduct such holidays of culture, even more bringing our two fraternal friendly peoples even closer together”, noted the Uzbek leader, wishing all participants of the festival strong health, happiness, prosperity and success in good endeavors.
