The team of the National Music and Drama Theater named after Mahtumkuli participated in the Second TeatrALL International Theater Festival in Astana, which was held from October 22 to 30.
The festival was attended by 14 theaters from the countries that are members of the International Organization “TURKSOY”, as well as invited artists from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Russia.
As reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the theater group brought to the festival a musical comedy by Uzeyir Gajibekov “Arshin Mal Alan”, staged by the Honored Art Worker of Turkmenistan Aynazar Batyrov.
Turkmen artists performed on the stage of the State Theater of Drama and Comedy named after Azerbaijan Mambetov, playing a performance in their native language without simultaneous translation. By the way, there were many countrymen from Turkmenistan in the auditorium.
-We got a lot of impressions, visited all the festival performances, master classes, talked with colleagues from different theaters, - says Artistic Director of the Mahtumkuli Theater Myrat Aradov. - Our version of the comedy “Arshin Mal Alan” was very warmly received. After the performance, the audience thanked us for a good performance, wished us further success and sent greetings to our homeland.
According to the number of audience sympathies, the team of the Turkmen theater was awarded the commemorative medal of Mahtumkuli Fragi.
For the performance of the song in the Kazakh language, the Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Nury Hudaiguliyev was awarded the Kazakh national robe shapan and aiyr-kalpak.
Also, a medal was brought from the trip, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the outstanding theater and film director, People's Hero of Kazakhstan, People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of the State Prizes of the USSR and the Republic of Kazakhstan of Azerbaijan Madiyevich Mambetov.
