The tallest woman in the world flew for the first time in her life

The tallest woman in the world, Turkish Rumeysa Gelgi made her first plane trip in her life, writes the publication “MK-Türkiye”.

Due to a rare genetic condition – Weaver’s syndrome, which causes the accelerated growth, Rumeysa often has to move on a stretcher or in a wheelchair, although sometimes she takes short walks. Her height is 2,15 meters, which permits her to enter the Guinness World Records.

Rumeysa Gelgi is a software developer. She decided to visit the USA and attend there a number of events in her field and enrich her professional skills. To make the flight comfortable, employees of the Turkish Airlines converted six seats into a couch in the cabin of the liner. On this couch Rumeysa Gelgi flew to the USA.

In addition to Weaver’s syndrome, Gelgi also suffers from a curvature of the spine – scoliosis, because of which she cannot be stay upright for a long time, that is why she forced to spend time lying down in flight.
