President Serdar Berdimuhamedov demanded to provide markets and shops with various goods and not to increase their prices at today's meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, announced the “Watan” news program of Turkmen television.

Addressing Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Atdayev, who is in charge of the trade complex, the head of state noted the need to further increase the production of consumer goods.

“In connection with the onset of the winter season, especially on holidays, it is important to control the supply of markets and shops with various goods, to prevent price increases”, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.

The President of Turkmenistan also instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to take comprehensive measures to modernize textile enterprises in order to use the potential of this industry to its full potential, develop the production of new types of finished products that successfully replace the products of foreign manufacturers.

The head of state ordered to continue work on the production of import-substituting products.

In this regard, Annageldi Yazmyradov, Deputy Prime Minister for Agroindustrial Complex, was instructed to consider the issues of expanding sown areas in order to increase the volume of growing vegetables, melons, potatoes and other crops. It was also noted the need to take practical steps to increase the production of agricultural products and reduce their imports, to provide domestic markets with domestically produced goods.
