In January-October 2022, over 1,3 million foreigners visited Azerbaijan, increasing last year's figures by 118%, reports the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan.
Over 160 thousand tourists visited Azerbaijan in October this year, which is 76% more than in the same period in 2021. In October 2021, this figure was more than 90 thousand people.
In accordance with statistics, in October 2022, over 1,4 thousand citizens of Turkmenistan arrived in Azerbaijan for tourism purposes.
Russia ranks first in terms of the number of tourists who came to Azerbaijan in October – 54,1 thousand people. The second place is occupied by Türkiye (28,3 thousand people), and the third by Iran (15,3 thousand people).
Let us remind that Azerbaijan has resumed issuing electronic visas to citizens of Turkmenistan since July 2022.
