“Flamengo” won the Copa Libertadores for the third time in their history

The victory in the Copa Libertadores was the third in history for “Flamengo”. In the final, the team managed to beat another Brazilian club, “Atlético Paranaense” - 1-0.

The ball was scored by Gabriel Barbosa Almeida in stoppage time for the first half. The “Atlético” players played in the minority from the 43rd minute after Pedro Enrique was sent off for a second yellow card.

“Flamengo” have previously won the trophy in 1981 and 2019.

The final of the Copa Libertadores was held on Sunday at the stadium “Monumental Banco Pichincha” in the city of Guayaquil (Ecuador).

For the fourth year in a row, only Brazilian teams played in the final.

With this win, “Palmeiras” qualified for the 2022 Club World Cup and the 2023 South American Recope.

Copa Libertadores is a football tournament held by CONMEBOL among the best clubs in South America.
