During the European Union Culture Week in Turkmenistan, the master classes on the study of the Italian language were organized in sequence for three Ashgabat universities.
The master classes were attended by students and teachers of the International University of Humanities and Development, the Turkmen State University named after Mahtumkuli and the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi, according to the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.
Within the framework of this campaign, presentations were prepared for IUHD students about the study of the Italian language by the youth of the world, as well as on the topic “The influence of foreign languages on the development of the Turkmen language. During the event, popular Italian songs were performed by students. Then, through the demonstration of short videos, the participants of the event virtually got acquainted with the unique historical heritage and rich cultural heritage of Italy.
The next day, the action continued at TSU named after Mahtumkuli. The honorary guests of the university were the Charge d'affaires of the Embassy of the Italian Republic in Turkmenistan Luigi Cazzato and Professor Maria Giovanna Farchi, who involved the participants of the event in an informative excursion as part of her lecture on the topic “Italian language and youth”. The main participants of the event were students studying in the specialty “Italian language and literature”. After listening to the lecture, students had the opportunity to ask questions about the subject.
The action ended at the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi. There was a meeting of students and teachers with the Charge d'affaires of the Embassy of the Italian Republic in Turkmenistan Luigi Cazzato and Italian language teachers who teach this discipline to students of other higher schools of Turkmenistan. During the event, innovative, including original, methods of teaching the Italian language were discussed, as well as a subsequent discussion on the materials of an extracurricular lecture session from a native speaker.
In their turn, the students declaimed the poems of the Great Turkmen poet Mahtumkuli in Italian. Their good command of the Italian language impressed and cheered the honored university guests.
Let’s remind that the European Union Culture Week in Turkmenistan under the name “Unity in Diversity started on October 24. The action was prepared jointly by the EU Delegation, the Embassies of France, Germany, Italy and Romania in Ashgabat with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
