The 2022 World SAMBO Championships will be held in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), reports the FIAS official website.
The tournament in Bishkek will be held from November 11 to 13. The sports complex “Gazprom” will become the arena for the competition.
The best sambo wrestlers of the planet in 21 weight categories will participte in the competition: 7 among men, 7 among women, and 7 in combat sambo among men.
The winners and prize-winners of the tournament will compete for a prize fund of 231 thousand USD.
Competitions will be held in the following weight categories:
- Men: 58kg, 64kg, 71kg, 79kg, 88kg, 98kg, +98kg.
- Women: 50kg, 54kg, 59kg, 65kg, 72kg, 80kg, +80kg.
- Combat Sambo: 58kg, 64kg, 71kg, 79kg, 88kg, 98kg, +98kg.
The distribution of prize money among the winners will be as follows:
- Gold medalist - 4000 USD;
- Silver medalist - 3000 USD;
- Bronze medalists - 2000 USD each.
Let us remind that the 2025 World SAMBO Championships are planned to be held in Turkmenistan.
