Being in the city of Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the aim to take part in the first meeting of “Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf and the States of Central Asia” Strategic Dialogue, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a number of bilateral meetings with colleagues.
In particular, he had a meeting with the Minister of the Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. During the meeting, the parties stressed the significance of strengthening and developing of bilateral relations in different directions of cooperation.
Then, a meeting with the Minister of the Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Sayyid bin Badr bin Hamad bin Hamad Al-Busaidi was held. Within the framework of this meeting, the necessity of activization of the work of the Working Committee of the Agreement between the Governments of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Oman and Qatar on the creation of an international transport and transit corridor was noted.
At a meeting with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, an interest in further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic and investments fields was expressed. In this regard, the issues of holding a regular meeting of the Joint Committee on Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi in 2022 were discussed.
During the active talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrein Abdellatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, special attention was paid to the issues of extension of political and diplomatic interaction, economic and cultural cooperation between two states.
At a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani, the diplomats stressed the relevance of organizing high-level visits to further promote interstate relations. The urgency of holding the next meeting of the Turkmen-Qatari intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation was emphasized.
During the talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of the State of Kuwait Ahmed Nasser Al Mohammed Al-Sabah, the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy and investment.
A meeting was also held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi. The sides stressed the importance of high- and top-level visits in the development of interstate relations, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
