The Brazilian government has banned Apple from selling the iPhone without the included charger. The Ministry of Justice fined the tech giant 12,275 million reais (2,38 million USD) and ordered the iPhone 12 and other versions of gadgets that come without a bundled charger to be withdrawn from sale.

The country's authorities are confident that Apple provides consumers with an incomplete product and adheres to “deliberate discriminatory practices against consumers”. In relation to the company's arguments about reducing carbon emissions, the country's Ministry of Justice said that there is no evidence of environmental protection from selling a smartphone without a charger.
