Humanitarian cargo from Turkmenistan is delivered to Karachi

Today morning humanitarian cargo, send by Turkmenistan, was delivered to the airport in Karachi, Sindh province of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The cargo was delivered with a Turkmen freight “Il-76”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

The ceremony of receiving freight was attended by Special Assistant and Advisor to the Chief Minister Sindh for Relief and Rehabilitation Haji Rasool Bax Chandio, Deputy Director of the National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan Waseem Ahmed, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistani media.

The relevant medicines and medical supplies, goods and food as humanitarian aid were sent in accordance with the Order of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in order to provide humanitarian assistance to the friendly Pakistani people in the context of the recent natural disasters in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which led to numerous casualties and large-scale destruction.

Pakistani officials expressed their gratitude to the leadership and people of Turkmenistan for the timely and much-needed humanitarian assistance, the source notes.

Let’s remind that because of the monsoon rains and floods in Pakistan affected approximately 33 million people, killed more than 1,100 people, and injured about 1,600.

On August 27, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif appealed to the international community for help. On September 2, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to send humanitarian aid to the friendly country.
