The largest in the world offshore wind power station has been put into operation in Great Britain. The power station, located 89 kilometers from Yorkshire in the North Sea, can supply Manchester where live more than 2 million people. The capacity of the facility is more than 1.3 gigawatts.
The station is located on the area of 462 square kilometers, which is more than half of New York. In total, 165 turbines with blades 81 meters long are installed on it.
As mail.ru edition notes, one revolution of the blades of the wind turbine can power an average British house during 24 hours.
