Vladimir Putin awarded Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the Order of “Merit for the Fatherland”

President of Russia Vladimir Putin awarded the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the Order of “Merit for the Fatherland IV degree”. This follows from a presidential decree published on the official portal of legal information.

“For a great contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan, award the Order of “Merit to the Fatherland”, IV degree, to Gurbanguly Myalikgulyevich Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan,” says the text of the decree.

The Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” is a state award of the Russian Federation. The order was established on March 2, 1994 by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation № 442. The order is the second most important state award in Russia after the Order of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called.

The order has four degrees, which are awarded sequentially, starting with the youngest (fourth). The Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” I and II degrees has a badge and a star, III and IV degrees - only a badge. The ribbon of the order is silk, moire, red.
