In accordance with the Concept of the development of the Turkmen Lake Altyn asyr region in 2019-2025 and the Action Plan for its implementation, it provides for a number of works on the rational use of the lake, the development of the Karakum desert, the creation of forest zones, the expansion of pasture areas, the construction of new villages in the nearby territory and along water reservoirs.
It is also noted that the Central Karakum is one of the natural phenomena of Turkmenistan, which has no analogues in the world in terms of landscape, zoological, botanical, economic and ecological studies of lowland and desert ecosystems, which have been preserved almost unchanged in their original form.
