Turkmenistan will propose the UNO to adopt 3 resolutions in the sphere of peace, security and development

At the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which will be held in September, Turkmenistan will propose to adopt three resolutions in the sphere of peace and security, reports ria.ru with the reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.

The document notes that during the upcoming 77th session of the General Assembly, the key direction of the activities of Turkmenistan will be ensuring and preserving of universal lasting and long-term peace, security and sustainable development.

It was stressed that one of the conditions of reaching universal peace and security is the creation of dialog platform on various issues as a part of the general process of multilateral constructive and equal communication among states.

“In this regard, noting the significance of the adopted in July 2022 Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, proclaiming Cenral Asia a zone of peace, trust and cooperation, Ashgabat will submit to the General Assembly a proposal to declare 2025 the Year of Peace and Trust,” the message reads.

Also in the document devoted to the priority positions of Turkmenistan at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, it is emphasized that in December 2022 the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia is celebrated, Turkmenistan intends to submit to the General Assembly a draft resolution on the role of the center, reflecting in this document significant events of recent years, including Proclamation of a zone of peace, trust and cooperation in Central Asia.

Besides, Ashgabat aims to initiate the development of the project of the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly “Dialog is a guarantee of peace”.

At the same time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan stressed that the adoption of such a document will confirm the principled and unequivocal commitment of all UN member states to a peaceful, negotiated way of resolving conflict situations, no matter how difficult they may seem.
