The seminar in the format of a videoconference “The instruments of the Global Soil Partnership in support of the Initiative of the Central Asian countries on Land Management System (CACILM-2)” was held in Ashgabat, reports “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
The main aim of the event is to get familiarized with the structure and main directions of the activity of the Global Soil Partnership for Food Security, Adaptation to Climate Change and Mitigation (GPP), the use of its tools in support of CACILM-2.
National and international experts took part in the discussion of the topical issues.
Representatives of the Representatives of the Global Soil Partnership Secretariat introduced the participants to its structure and programs. Experts from Russia and Kazakhstan made presentations on the topics of the global network of soil laboratories.
The GSP unites international, regional and national organizations that work in the field of soil protection and sustainable management. The partnership was launched by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome on September 7, 2011.
In his activities, the GSP sticks the approach of the “Single health”, advocating the health of the environment, human, animals and soils. Its activities the GSP executes in 6 directions, including working to improve and maintain the health of at least 50% of the world's soils by 2030.
