An educational seminar on the topic “Labor protection is essential for creation of health and safe conditions at working places” for inspectors of industrial units and the representatives of interested institutions was conducted at the National Labor Centre of Turkmenistan.
As reported in the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper, those who delivered speeches at the seminar drew attention to the fact that the priority should be to ensure the preservation of life and protection of the health of workers.
It was emphasized that the main directions of activities of the labor unities is the creation and provision of health and safe working conditions for employees, supervision and control over compliance with labor protection requirements. It is necessary to ensure the conduction of investigations and accounting of industrial injuries, occupational illnesses, to protect the rights and legitimate interests of workers affected by accidents at work and occupational diseases, as well as their family members.
The specialists of the National Labor Centre of Turkmenistan clarified the issues of settlement of labor relations in the collectives, resolution of disputes arising during the organization of labor. It was stressed that the National Labor Centre of Turkmenistan keeps under the permanent control the issues on prevention of work-related injuries and occupational illnesses and evaluates the work of trade union committees to create safe and healthy working conditions for employees, improve their technological and labor discipline, and production culture.
At the seminar, also, took floor supervisors of branch labor unions, representatives of interested institutions, who shared with their experience of creation of effective control system for monitoring the implementation of measures for the prevention of occupational injuries and occupational diseases, explanatory work on safety among workers.
