Weightlifter Medine Amanova wins gold at Asian Youth Championship

Turkmen athlete Medine Amanova, performing in the category up to 64 kilograms, won a gold medal at the Asian Weightlifting Championship among youths and juniors, held in Tashkent (Uzbekistan).

Amanova confidently won in the weight category up to 64 kg, lifting 189 kg in the biathlon (85 kg in the snatch and 104 kg in the clean and jerk).

The second place was taken by Nadezhda Li from Kazakhstan with the result of 184 (84+100) kg. The third was an athlete from Uzbekistan Mashkura Rustamova - 181 (78 + 103) kg.

16 years old Medine is engaged in weightlifting under the guidance of her father, the coach of the School of Higher Sportsmanship and the national team of Turkmenistan among girls (under 17) Gurbandurdy Amanov.

This is the second award for the national team of Turkmenistan in the tournament. The gold medal in the weight category up to 89 kg among young men was won by Saparly Muhiev, who lifted 300 kg (135+165) in the biathlon.

The Asian Weightlifting Championship among youths and juniors is held in Tashkent from July 15 to 25.
