The crew of the Russian team of racers “KAMAZ-master”, under the leadership of the pilot Dmitriy Sotnikov, won the final stage of rally raid “Silk Way” in truck standings. For Sotnikov, this victory became already the fourth at the marathon, earlier he took the first place in 2013, 2017 and 2021.

The “Silk Way” rally raid has been held since 2009 and is edto be the most difficult in the world: this year the members overcame almost 4.5 thousand kilometers, 2 768 km of which were the speed sections where the crews had to demonstrate not only their speed, but also to avoid mistakes in the navigation and driving of cars and motocycles.

As per the words of Dmitriy, the victory reached is the result of the work of the whole crew and the team which was performed on the highest level.

“At this race, everyone got it – both the mechanics and the navigator. I am very satisfied. It happened that the mechanics worked until morning. When there was the second stage, our gimbal broke off, we stood in the sand, and I thought: Well, that's it, we'll get there already. But at that moment something changed, and somehow, we managed quickly enough, and then it went-it went. We felt that we could fight, and the race was very difficult. We were lucky to win the Absolute. We are very happy about this,” the “KAMAZ master” press service quotes Sotnikov as saying.

It is worth noting that in the final standings, Sotnikov's partner on the “KAMAZ master” team, Eduard Nikolaev, took second place. They fought with each other for most of the race, but on the eighth special stage Dmitriy finally beat Eduard. The top three winners in the truck category were closed by Sergey Vyazovich from the “MAZ-SPORTavto” team.

We should add the General Director of “KAMAZ” Sergey Kogogin congratulated the “KAMAZ-master” team with the victory at the international rally raid.
