Cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in the field of tourism promises to be effective and fruitful in the light of the Agreement signed yesterday between the governments of the two countries within the framework of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Uzbekistan.
As reports uzdaily.uz, the Cooperation Agreement between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan provides for wide coverage in the media of joint international events to develop the tourism potential of the two countries and promote the joint routes “The Great Silk Road” and “One Journey - the whole region”.
Within the framework of the Agreement, coordinated advertising campaigns, study tours, training events and retraining of personnel for representatives of the tourism industry will be carried out. Also information exchange, further development of existing and development of new joint tourist destinations will be carried out.
The signed Agreement aims to further increase of the tourist flow from Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan, the recognition of the tourist brand of Uzbekistan in the market of Turkmenistan and the activation of ties between the subjects of the tourism industry of the two countries.
Upon the entry into force of the new document, the Agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism between the governments of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 16, 1996 and the Agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism between the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Tourism and Sports and the National Company “Uzbektourism” dated February 25 2009 become invalid.
