In recent years, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan has grown 5 times, reaching 902 million US dollars last year. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said this today in Tashkent at a meeting with his Turkmen counterpart Serdar Berdimuhamedov, visiting Uzbekistan for the first time as President of the country on a two-day state visit. A video about the negotiations was shown today in the information program “Watan” of the Turkmen television.

“The trade turnover increased by 70 percent last year – it reached 902 million. That's almost a billion dollars. We have never had such a thing. For the first half of the year – more than 400 million US dollars,” Mirziyoyev said.

As per him, “these figures are not the limit.”

“There are all opportunities to bring the volume of trade to more than 1 billion US dollars by the end of this year, and in the medium term, it can be doubled, because there are all grounds for this,” the President of Uzbekistan stressed, speaking to media representatives.
