So, bears and pandas were given watermelon popsicles, lions were given frozen meat, and seals were served ice-cold sardines. And to keep the rhinoceros and turtles from overheating, the zoo staff pour cool water on them several times a day.
Besides that, many enclosures are equipped with swimming pools and air conditioning, and also awnings and shelters, which permit animals to hide in the cool shade.
