The men's 3x3 basketball team of Turkmenistan defeated the team of Palestine in the opening match of the 2022 Asian Cup qualifying tournament.
The meeting of group “E”, held today in Singapore, ended with a score of 18:7 in favor of the Turkmen basketball players.
In the next game, Turkmen athletes will play today with the Indian team, which is the leader in the group (21 points). In second place is Turkmenistan (18 points) and Palestine is the last.
Evgeny Nazipov, Annakuli Hojakuliyev, Kerim Mammetmuradov and Merdan Hojamedov went to Singapore for the Asian Cup as part of the Turkmen team.
In the men's category, only three teams have a guaranteed spot in the main draw, they are Singapore (hosts), Australia (reigning champions) and Mongolia (team with the best ranking in the FIBA 3x3 rankings as of November 1, 2021).
