President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to resume external transport links in the near future. The instruction of the head of state was announced today at a Government meeting, the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television reported.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the epidemiological situation in the world normalized, many countries opened their space.

Regular flights between Turkmenistan and other countries were discontinued at the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, in spring of 2020. On May 6, it became known that the country would partially resume air traffic.

Currently, flights from Turkmenistan are performed in two directions – Kazan and Dubai.
