President of Turkmenistan congratulated the King of Jordan on Independence Day

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent heartfelt congratulations to King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan and all people of the country on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Taking this opportunity, the head of state expressed sincere wishes for good health, happiness and well–being to King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, and peace, further progress and prosperity to the friendly people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports today.

Residents of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, better known as Jordan, celebrate Independence Day annually on May 25. Jordan gained independence from Britain in 1946.

For Jordanians, the annual celebration of Independence Day is pride in their country and people. All festive events held in the country on this day are aimed at emphasizing the importance of the historical event that took place on May 25, 1946.

For Jordanian citizens, May 25 is a non-working day. On this day, the streets and squares of the cities are filled with people with the national flags of Jordan. A parade is held in the capital of Jordan – Amman, and the entire royal family takes part in the celebration. The King addresses the nation with congratulations and he accepts congratulations from foreign guests at an official reception specially organized on the occasion of the holiday.
